Global status doesn't command a vision of equal prosperity but a system of convergence so that prosperity of each nation is maintained and grows each year to enable the vision of increasing prosperity.

The idea that some should sacrifice for others has always been at the root of predatory capitalism that cannot work except in discriminatory ways. Protectionism can be just only to prevent sliding backwards which no nation wants to do.

Each nation competing with itself for greater prosperity is the only method of competition that is justifiable in the universe. Far different a perspective than nations competing with each other for resources. Sharing of resources is the only possibility unless genocide is the ultimate aim.
